La Union Escapade

Last January 16-19 2015, We decided to go to La Union to unwind and explore the city. La Union is in the northern part of Luzon. It was 6-7 hour drive from Manila. It was around 2am when we reached the place. We stayed at my teammate's rest house in Balauan.

Bahay na Bato is not a typical historical house. It has a lot of stone sculptures in different sizes. Stones in the pathways has flower carvings and there's another pathway where wood carvings with faces are displayed. Outside the Bahay na Bato you can see a different stone sculptures that has unique forms. Bahay na Bato is located in Nalvo Norte, Luna, La Union. Entrance Fee costs P10.00 only.

The next day we went to Occalong Falls. Occalong Falls is in Brgy Cabalitucan Luna La Union. Take a tricycle ride going to barangay Occalong until the nearest area to the falls then walk some few meters to the falls. You can also have picnic there as tables and chairs are readily available.

Our whole La Union trip wouldn't be good if we don't experience the waves that the province is very proud of, so our last day in La Union we spend it under sun. We enjoyed the waves that hit our bodies and pushes us to the shore. The water is like a foam because of the bubbles.

With this short stay in La Union, I can say that it was one of the best trip so far I've ever had, also because of the warm welcome of the people in this place. This is not the last time that I will visit La Union.
